Thought for the Day

Last week I read, with increasing alarm, a Listener article entitled, 'Chemical Imbalance'.

Jacqueline Rowarth, who is Chief Scientist of the Environmental Protection Authority wrote: "In the face of public anxiety about synthetic chemicals, scientists are working on a "green and sustainable chemical future."

She started with a childish tale about the alarming dangers of di-hydrogen monoxide - which is of course H2O or water and concluded that people who didn't understand science can develop misplaced fears about chemicals and proceeded to label those without the benefits of a higher degree in science as suffering from "chemophobia".

This is the old technique of creating a 'straw man' and then proceeding to argue about the 'straw man' instead of the real subject at hand.

This approach to a complex subject is childish and harmful to rational discussion on a scientific basis.

It is a pity to see a public scientist engage in such practices. It seems to be the way things are done in this 'politically correct' world which we inhabit. The globalist chemical giants produce artificial ways of growing more food using GMO seeds and various fertilisers which enhance growth for a year or two but devastate the natural health of the soil so that over time the soil becomes lifeless and unable to grow anything much at all. It then turns to desert and blows away.

On top of that they develop many very toxic substances which don't affect the GMO crops too much but kill all the weeds and insects. Nobody has ever bothered to prove that the resulting food is as healthy as can be grown in a natural environment.

The Monsanto apologists never try to prove their contentions. They just assume that they are right and concerned and principled citizens must fight tooth and nail for a healthy environment.

The proof of healthy food must remain the obligation of the food producer.

Personally my understanding of our current way of life entitles us to not buy what we regard as unproven chemicals in a packet and to choose to buy natural grown food.

My brother runs a supermarket in Auckland and assures me that the fastest growing section by far is the 'organic' section.

I am pleased to see such a healthy scepticism in the general population and would have thought that the chief scientist of a public protection authority should be taking an attitude of "First do no harm" - just like our doctors. Then it is up to the producer to prove that the product 'does no harm'.

The attitude that chemicals are all around us and that everything is made from chemicals so therefore we should not be careful about eating anything made from chemicals is specious at best and insulting to ordinary people.

She further contends that chemistry is a difficult subject to study and therefore we should not bother ourselves with trying to understand it but just take the word of our betters. However science is easy to understand; a theory is true if its predictions come true. Truth is a fact or in accordance with reality. Any theory can be tested by anyone and if it is shown to be wrong then the theory is not true and must be discarded by anyone wishing to understand what is true and develop a scientific outlook on life.

Like the two school girls in Auckland who were studying the exceedingly difficult subject of chemistry and in particular the chemical hydrogen ascorbate - commonly known as ascorbic acid or Vitamin C. They knew how to test for the presence of Vit. C and proceeded to test the theory that the globalist drink known as Ribena contained vitamin C. They expected to find plenty!

However they found none. They tried again with the same result and concluded that the theory was wrong. Ribena contained no vitamin C despite the marketing hype on the label.

This is science in action and anyone can be a scientist. It is not a mystery. A theory is either true or not true. OR the theory needs to be restated!

The same thing happened when many thousands of Kiwis tried their favourite Cadbury's chocolate and found that it "didn't taste right". So they complained and also took their money elsewhere. The dollar is the ultimate voting paper and the voters reduced Cadbury's to whining and apologising before folding up their tent and slinking back off to Australia leaving behind an empty factory which I am sure the good people of Dunedin will put to better use.

It turns out that Cadbury's were trying to substitute some of the chocolate with palm oil. They did this without telling the public which was sly and very underhand of them. But as I pointed out, anyone can be a scientist and when 100,000 people (including me) gave their favourite chocolate the good old taste test and found that "it didn't taste right" they were correct in their assessment and quite right to reject the offending food and buy a much better local product. One made from chocolate as advertised!

I see that Cadbury's is trying to make a come-back but I, for one, object to being lied to and taken for a dummy so I am happy to say that I will never eat Cadbury's chocolate flavoured palm oil again.

Ms Rowarth goes on to discuss poisonous plants which didn't seem to prove anything much of her argument. We know some plants are poisonous and we therefore don't eat those ones. This doesn't make us chemophobic! It just makes us sensible.

We have seen the results of the chemical thalidomide in babies and that has certainly made us all think twice about what the pharmaceutical companies say and what pills we ingest. We have seen their advertising techniques at work on our TVs in New Zealand busily brain-washing the unwary. This only happens in NZ and the USA. Other nations refuse to allow such dubious promotions.

Ms Rowarth's discussion of whether a chemical is a hazard or a risk is just not relevant.

When she claims that the use of glyphosate in growing crops not only kills weeds but also "reduces green house gas production and limits the potential for soil erosion and loss of organic matter" then I do really have to question her sincerity as a scientist. Far better is to grow plants naturally by improving the organic nature of the soil with natural nutrients that act as compost and increase soil fertility.

We do not have a starvation problem in this world caused by growing foods naturally. We have a famine in parts of this world because a certain country which I shall not name causes continual war across much of this world and the continual and indiscriminate bombing of villages killing and maiming women and children and making agriculture impossible. Centralised interference with the age-old food growing techniques in China also caused the deaths of 30 million people in Mao's China.

We also have Monsanto's interference in the farms of India which makes it impossible for local farmers to make a living using GMO seeds and glyphosate poisons on their crops. I would ask Ms Rowarth how many Indian farmers have committed suicide because of this interference by the BIG Globalists interested only in their money and who care nothing for people's lives.

This whole process reeks of evil and should be examined carefully by anyone interested in finding justice for those who have died as a result of the use of Monsanto methods and their poisoning of the land.

And I have not even mentioned the use of Napalm and Agent Orange on Vietnamese villagers and their property. Very dangerous chemicals - very dangerous. Ms Rowarth may agree.

Ms Rowarth states that "the biggest challenge for 'green chemistry' is engaging the public in overcoming negative perceptions.

Unfortunately, her 'negative perceptions' are the harsh reality which has been demonstrated all around the world as BIG Agriculture and BIG Chemicals provide death and destruction wherever they can.

We, the public are very aware of exactly what is going on and we do not want any part of it.

I am only sorry that our government seems to have sold out to the BIG Money Globalists and our bureaucrats have become mere flag wavers touting lies and making false arguments to our detriment.

This is not value for money in my book! I want my taxes back!

The Real Suspects of 9/11

Christine Todd Whitman, Administrator of the American Environment Protection Agency (EPA) tells lies about chemicals which ended up killing many victims of the 9/11 catastrophe.

This section starts at about 14 minutes in and provides a devastating denouncement of Ms Whitman.

I am sure that our EPA would not tells lies about the dangers of chemicals.

Would they?

Greyerz – This Is About To Have A Catastrophic Global Impact On The Financial System

REAL Economic theory can predict fairly accurately what will happen to economies in the future - but it tells us nothing about the when.

We do know the why, the who, the where and the how.

It is just not possible to know what event will trigger off the avalanche of debt.

Social destruction by the abuse of money

A lesson for New Zealand.

But we will not learn it.

We have learned that we can get endless money freshly printed upon demand and we want to make the most of it while we can. We fail to realise that this 'magic' money is debt and must eventually be paid back.

However if we started to seriously pay down this bank debt the banks themselves would fail. If we pay off our loans the magic money just disappears again. This means the banks still have all their overheads and other future promises but no interest income. As we reduced the amount of money in the nation so we would reduce the price of everything in a general deflationary spiral.

This would cause the banks to go bankrupt.

Then the system would just stop until we slowly build up with a REAL Money system and REAL Savings which provides the REAL Capital for entrepreneurs and businesses to use to create more wealth.

This is the secret that the US of A showed the world - How to Make Money! Then they fell prey to the BIG Bankers and their promises of wealth from FAKE Money. Unfortunately this means that only the 1% get to accumulate wealth and the rest of us eventually become serfs in the lands our forefathers have made prosperous.

But no-one can learn this lesson without experiencing it.

So we are doomed to learn it once again.
